Swimming Lessons

We finished another year of Swim Lessons. He was in the "otter" class. I got his report card and he finished everything for the class. He is getting good. He still needs floaties for deep water. But they did start him on a few strokes. I don't know if I will move him up next year or not. But Mark will be in the mommy and me class next year!

Who's your Hero?

Last week we had our VBS at the Church of Christ South Yukon. What a great week. I helped with about 21 1st graders every night. The Veggie Tales characters did great. Of course the fan fave puppets where good. And this year we had a Science Lab. The kids were amazed by the experiments they used to go along with the stories. The truth was that we can all be heros if we share God with others. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

Skunks and Dogs don't mix

Well, I guess one night of excitment wasn't enough for us. Last night I was up at 2 sick to my stomach. While I was up my dog of course wanted out. The fun started when he came back in. Yes, he thought it was a great idea to chase a skunk. He came in smelling so terriable. So, at 4 am this morning I was giving our dog a shower. That worked a little bit. Then when my hubby got home tonight he gave him another one. He still smells so we are going to try something we read on the internet. Peroxide, Baking soda, and soap. I hope this works. The smell is making me sick.

Firetrucks at Midnight!

We had some recent excitment around here. On Tuesday night our breaker to our hot water heater tank blew. After that the whole breaker box started to feel Hot to the touch and smelt like something was burning. We waited around and then at Midnight Nathan decided to call the fire department. We packed up the boys in the car and parked across the street. When the Firemen got here they went in and looked into the wall. Owen was really worried about Nathan being in the house with the firemen. They came out and said that nothing was going to catch fire. The next day with a plummer and an electrician we got the breaker fixed. Hope everyone else is having just as much excitement as we are!

Home Improvments

We have been wanting new lights in our kitchen. We bought one a few weeks ago to try out. Well, it was a little to modern for our decor. So off to Lowe's we went this weekend. We started off by finding the little light to go above the sink on the sale rack. Score!
Then we went to look at what would go with it. When we got home with our finds for the day we put the kids down for naps. Now I don't know about you but doing projects with your spouse can sometimes bring out the worst in people. I am proud to say that not only do the lights work but we got it all done with not one fight! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few pics.
The last pic is underneath my kitchen counter. I had three matching wreaths hanging there before. This is my new/redue area. That is a plate rack that was going in the trash because one of the plate holder areas was not welded. I hung it sideways and this is what I have come up with so far. The monogramed dish towel is a gift from a friend because I was one of the hostess for her baby shower. What do you think? I think it needs some silver butterflys or something along that line. If you like making old things new again check out Brassy Apple and ideas from her readers.
